Scenario Location Alternative 2

As promised, here is the second pitch you can vote for as the location that we will flesh out together during the event.

One more will be posted tomorrow and after that we will post a poll (on the Facebook group – and I’ll try to get a poll up on the forums here too) for the rest of September so you have sufficient time to read and make up your mind about which one you want to vote for.

Without further ado (see also attached as PDF):

Pieraus

Beginning life as a resupply station for ships traversing the Abzu system, Pieraus is positioned on the long route from the Ring, past the gas giants, to the inner planets, and the asteroid belt. This has made it an indispensable way station. Ships top up on reaction mass, conduct repairs, exchange cargo and wait for contracts, passengers or news.

The station’s network was built quickly and secured badly, attracting hacker collectives now occupying workshops and service compartments, harvesting private traffic whenever data packets arrive. For the right price, they can recover messages, alter manifests, or reveal who has been asking about a ship or artefact.

Rocko’s Tavern became the market for builder technology recovered from Abzu’s drowned ruins and undocumented sites elsewhere in the system. Deals on genuine artefacts, convincing counterfeits, and dangerous fragments are made there. Dockside deals are riskier both with regards to being scammed and/or mugged. Recently, Pinkwater withdrew its security personnel after a contractual dispute with station owner Pope-Sanchez Shipping. Station manager, Jim Stavridis, lacks money and trained replacements to ensure security, making Pieraus attractive for smugglers, corporate agents, and syndicates.
