Larunda

Originally a “tax free” casino bolted to an asteroid between Jupiter and Saturn, The Benedict Grand has grown to become a small space station known as Larunda.

As word of The Benedict Grand spread throughout the belt. It wasn’t long before enterprising belters started attaching derelict ships and other space junk to the casino to build out more substantial docks, extended accommodation, other recreational facilities and then the infrastructure to support the small population who staff the businesses.

More recently, the mysterious owner of the Benedict Grand (known only as “the Manager”) invested in spinning up the asteroid. This has introducing up to half Earth gravity to some parts of the facility, which has allowed the casino and hotels to attract super-wealthy clients.

While the increased gravity has certainly increased profits for the casino, not everyone appreciates this move with many residents now forced to regularly take supplements to allow them to work in the higher gravity areas of the station, much of the structure of the outpost is also under increased physical stress and an influx of super-wealthy gamblers has created tension with the poorer residents.
