The Facebook Expanse RPG community has organised the annual one-page adventure jam since 2021. The idea is to inspire and collect community creations of short modular adventures that GMs can use for their own Expanse RPG games.
You can find the collected adventures in the Adventures section, and other related activites on the Activities section.
Below are the standard rules and guidelines for the one page adventure jams.
One Page Adventure Jam Information
If you are not registered on Facebook, you can submit your one page adventure as a PDF to the e-mail on this year’s event page. Importantly, all submissions will be shared on the Facebook GM group.
The members of the GM group vote for their favourite submission in a poll at a time to be determined after the submission deadline.
If there is a very high number of submissions, the Facebook Expanse RPG community moderator team (i.e., the judges) will take it upon themselves to shortlist the submissions in a review process closely linked to the theme of the jam and quality of the adventure. The poll will include only the shortlisted submissions.
When creating the adventure, consider the following:
- What is the core conflict?
- Is the conflict local, global, or systemwide?
- Why should the characters care?
- What or who is the main threat?
- Who are interested parties?
- Who are the potential victims?
- Who are targets?
- What are any potential complicating factors?
- Do the unintelligible mysteries of the Builders matter?
Keep in mind things that may affect the adventure’s atmosphere and mood, The Churn, or Stunt Point expenditure. Such as social justice, politics, prejudice and oppression, war, pirates, micrometeorites, solar flairs, radiation, weather, lighting, temperatures, flora, fauna, and primary make up of the planet, moon, moonlets, space, and/or sun(s).
One Page Adventure Jam Standard Rules
- Only one entry allowed per participant.
- Each submission must have a title and a named author.
- One page means the adventure’s text for plot, encounters, and story must fit on one side of one sheet of paper (A4), i.e., page 1 (as per page numbering).
- You can include maps, deck plans, NPC stat blocks, new gear and rules, and oddities, on the second side of the sheet, i.e., page 2 (as per page numbering).
- Submissions cannot violate copyright, intellectual property, or trademarks of others (if in doubt, refer to page numbers in published books instead).
- Submissions must be labelled “fan inspired content anyone can use” or something to that effect.
- The filename should start with “OPAJ24” and followed by the name of your adventure, e.g., “OPAJ24_Myawesomeonepageadventure.PDF”.

- Submissions must be written in English.
- Submission must be uploaded no later than 30 September 2024 at 23:59 UTC.
- Submissions can be replaced/revised up until the submission deadline. Only the final revision will be considered.
