While not hot off the press there are two important pieces of news for GMs and players of the Expanse RPG that I would like to write some more about.
The first concerns the launch of a new edition of the rules. I have mentioned this briefly earlier. It is worth repeating. The new edition is basically an expansion as I understand it (source: ThursdAGE), moving the default “era” or point on the timeline to set your games to the 30-year gap between book 6 and 7. Rules wise, the basic core rules remain the same (completely compatible with previous releases), but are expanded to include rules on gravity, cybernetics, and more. To get on the bandwagon, click the link above and count down the days until it launches.
The campaign for the new edition also comes with a new campaign or adventure series a la Abzu’s Bounty, a player’s companion, and a sourcebook on (and adventure series set during) the Free Navy conflict. The new edition and sourcebooks appear to be great additions to the game, and will keep the line alive! If you get in early, there are limited products to choose from (currently unannounced), dice, minis (of both characters and ships), and possibly more.
The second news is even older but still of vital importance for the community: The Atomic Think Tank is GRP’s new social media platform. This is a great place to engage with GRP and their communities. From the Expanse to Cthulhu Awakens, Modern AGE, Blue Rose, Mutants & Masterminds, and the rest of GRP’s games, it is a growing and blooming community of fans, players, and GMs. It is well worth it!
Also, if you are interested in taking part in their community publishing program, the Age Creators Alliance, this is a great place to join, to get inspiration, feedback, and to promote your creations.
If you haven’t joined The Atomic Think Tank yet, you can do so by following this link and join now!
